Will Not Using All My Daily Points Allowance on the Weight Watchers Diet Have a Negative Effect?
I’ve recent started doing the weight watchers diet at home and counting points. I’m allowed 21 points a day, but usually only using around 16 (and not feeling hungrey). I’m doing a 1 hour of exercise every other day and walking my dog every day. Will the fact that I’m not using all my daily points have a negative effect, as the first week of the diet I lost 3 lbs and the second week I did not lose or gain any points?
Thanks for any advise.

I’ve been on Weight Watchers in the past and received excellent results.
We were always told at meetings to use all your points or as close as possible.
Like you, I would not use all my points and found that I remained almost unchanged from week to week. I discussed it with my adviser and she said use all your points.
Well, I started doing so and the pounds started coming off again.
So yes, it has an effect on your weight loss. Try and get a little closer to the 21 points and see if it makes a difference for you. It certainly did for me! Good luck!
I don’t see why it would. But it’s nice to know that there are a few "extras" available in case the munchies strike!
You will have weeks where you don’t lose anything! It’s unfortunate and frustrating. If you’re female, where you are in your monthly cycle probably has something to do with it. Just keep on watching your points closely, exercising and drinking lots of water! Good Luck!
No, 16 points are just fine. A friend of mine did this and never ate all the points she was allowed to. She also ate around 16 a day. It’s normal to loose more the first week. Usually with weight watchers you loose around 5 pounds the first week and two pounds every week after that.
Well i’m not an expert on Weight Watchers. I never liked the fact they made you pay for meetings and things like that but I would just think that you would just lose more weight on 16 points a day than 21. If you can get by on that much the better for you, i suppose, especially since you’re active. You’re just eating less calories
Yeah it should be fine, although you have to make sure your still getting enough nutrients and fibre. Enough dairy, protein and fats… otherwise your body is going to get pissy at you and start losing weight less efficiently.
Save it up and have a slice of cake or a treat every now and again to avoid a binge… a very damaging weight loss occurance.
You may hit the "wall" faster but I dont believe it is hurting you.
