I’m not sure about what comes in their “kits”. But I was on it about 4 years ago and lost about 70 pounds. I would definately recommend it because I felt like I was constantly having to eat but that I was still constantly losing weight! So I never felt deprived at all.
I think both genders can participate. It’s not limited to just females. Good luck to you both!

It is good for basic knowledge. I believe it would help you. Your husband would learn from it, but is 85% female. Guys seem to like NutriSystem more even though I don’t think it is as good.

Hello! I have just started Weight Watchers about three weeks ago. I joined after one of my friends has had great results with it. So far, I have lost about 6 lbs. I am 5′10 and my starting weight was 170. I was really surprised at how fast I started seeing results. It’s so motivating and I am really glad I joined! I want to lose about 20 lbs, so I am already more than 25% towards my goal, which is a great feeling.
I participate in Weight Watchers through the company I work for and we have two guys in our group. It is mostly females, but males also have great results!
I purchased the starter kit for $25 and it came with a dining out guide, the complete food guide with points value for every food you could possibly think of, and it came with a three month journal. It also came with coupons and a small recipe book.
If you are considering joining, I would HIGHLY recommend it!!! Best of luck to you!
