I wouldn’t recommend WW because everyone I’ve known who joined dropped out and ended up fat again. Also, they’ll teach you about "points" instead of calories when all the websites and just about everyone else in the world uses the calories and not points. That makes computation more difficult for you. And, there is nothing special about WW unless you need a group therapy setting.
What everyone who needs to burn off fat should do is simply learn how to eat right and then do it. It’s really not that hard once you understand it’s just a matter of getting rid of old bad habits and habituating the eating behavior you should have been taught as a child.
Here are some fat facts you should know no matter what you decide about WW.
DIET FITNESS FACTS
? If you consume fewer calories than you burn, you have to lose weight eventually. There are no exceptions to this fact.
? A pound of fat will yield about 3500 calories (Kcal) of energy.
? An average person must run or walk about 5 miles (8 km) every day to burn one pound of fat per week assuming their diet allows for fat consumption.
? An average person must run or walk about 350 miles (563 km) to burn 10 pounds and their diet must allow it. If they walk 350 miles (13.4 maratons) at 3mph it will take them 117 hours or about three full 40 hour work weeks to burn 10 pounds of fat.
? If an average person consumes 500 calories per day less than they burn, they will lose about a pound a week with no extra time required.
? Running does not burn any more fat than walking as long as the distance remains the same.
? It does not matter if a person runs or walks a given distance…they will burn the same number of calories. Calories are energy and energy expenditure is not time dependent. How fast a person runs has nothing to do with how many calories they burn. Only the distance determines the calories burned.
? There is no exercise which will remove fat from a particular place on the body. Your body (genetics) determines where you lose fat, not you nor your diet nor your exercise.
? It doesn’t matter how hard or how long you exercise, you will not lose any fat if you eat too much. When it comes to burning fat, diet always trumps exercise.
? There are no supplements which will make your body burn fat. Only you can do that with diet control.
And here are two websites which will make it easy for you to learn how to maintain a proper diet.
YOUR FITNESS PAL – This is the best diet helper on the web. It will look up nutritional info for your food items and pop them into your diary while keeping track of your progress including water, exercise, blogging, and a discussion forum for a community of people just like you where you can go for answers to questions. A MUST for dieters. –> http://www.myfitnesspal.com/
FOR FAT LOSS DIETING – This is the most complete source for information for those who want to lose fat from beginning to experienced dieters. Chock full of tips, diet plans, exercise routines, cool tools, etc. be sure to bookmark this site. ? http://www.freedieting.com/
My answer to your question is, if you decide to join WW, both join and make it a togetherness project. Eventually you’ll probably end up not attending the meetings as the newness wears off and they become more trouble than they were worth. But mutual support may help you both get off to a better start and at least you’ll be speaking the same (points) language.
Good luck and good health!!

Don’t go there. It’s terrible. Slimming world are the best. Believe me.
I only lost 10 pounds on WW after 4 months. The weight loss was too slow for my liking and I hated having to sit around and listen to everyone else complain. The group meetings were the worst!
