Is Weight Watchers and Easy Plan to Stick To?
I’ve already heard that Weight Watchers works, and I have seen the results that people have achieved. I just wonder if I should join an established program (to motivate myself to stay on it) rather than rely on myself to create my own diet and exercise regime.
For those who have done Weight Watchers, what are the pros and cons?

I have to Say that Weight Watchers has helped me. The weight loss was slow but it was worth it because You were always learning new stuff about how to live a healthier life. I started only 3 months ago and I ‘ve lossed on 35 pds but I did lose 3 pant sizes and I feel better about myself….even thought I weight 250.
The meetings were helpful, because you got to meet people that are also willing to change their lifestyle to make them better. For example when I started WW I had a enlarged Thyroid and now I have a normal sized Thyroid. I am told a smaller thyroid is better So I guess I am doing good.
I recommend WW to all of my overweight friends because with the Flex plan you don’t have to completely change everything at first you can gradually get into the rhythm. True It can be hard when you reach a plateau. but all it takes is a little more exercise and all will be right again.
I love Weight Watchers. It’s the only "diet" plan that’s ever worked for me on a long-term basis. I think the reason is that you don’t buy special foods to lose weight. You buy the same foods everybody else does. It’s more of a healthy eating plan than a "diet." It teaches you how to lose the weight and keep it off by making healthy choices.
On Weight Watchers there are two routes you can go: the Flex plan and Core. On the Flex plan you keep track of everything you eat via a points system that is calculated by taking calories, fat, and fiber into consideration. With Core you don’t count points but rely on yourself to decide when you’re full. I am on the Flex plan because writing everything down helps me to stay on track.
Whichever plan you choose, though, here are some general healthy tips:
-Drink at LEAST 48oz of water each day (that’s the min…I usually try to shoot for closer to 100)
-Eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables each day
-choose whole grains and high fiber foods whenever possible (they’re healthier for you and tend to be more dense, so you’ll remain full for a longer period of time)
-shoot for 2 to 3 servings of dairy each day.
-exercise moderately. don’t kill yourself out there!
I subscribe to the belief that "slow and steady wins the race." Don’t set impossible goals for yourself like "I’m going to lose 10 pounds in a week." When it doesn’t happen you’ll just get discouraged. Take comfort in the small victories each day and enjoy yourself as you’re working toward a healthier you.
Good luck!

It does work. I have many friends and family who are/were on it with very good success. Once you get the hang of it. You really don’t need to go to the meetings. Its just a matter of preference. Its all about counting points. You can buy a lot of weight watcher food products at wal mart or most major supermarkets. You really don’t need to buy them tho. Just stick to the point system and you will be fine.
The only con I can see is the cost. But, it all adds up to a healthy life style so its worth it.
Good luck.
Weight Watchers is great. You can join on line and don’t have to go to the meetings. It is about 4.50 a week online.
The flex plan is great. Easy to follow—eat virtually anything you want in moderation. Has member boards where you will find inspiration and help. You can try it free. Has exercise suggestions. Check it out you have nothing to loose but weight.
WEIGHT WATCHERS IS FINE BUT YOU HAVE TO STICK WITH IT FOREVER. I JUST EAT LESS AND WATCH MY FAT AND CALORIE INTAKE. I KEEP TRACK OF EVERY LITTLE THING I EAT, EVEN IF IT IS A LITTLE JELLY BEAN OR A COUPLE OF PRETZELS. I WRITE IT ALL DOWN, ITS AMAZING HOW MUCH YOU CAN LOSE BY DOING THIS. IT’S ALL ABOUT PORTIONS.
