When you start attending the meeting you will get a different book each week for the first 10 weeks. The first week you will get a slide point calculator (a cardboard one), the first weekly book and a Weight Watchers pocket guide which has estimated point values for a foods based upon the average of 3 different brands of the same product.
The weekly books usually cover a specific topic such as motivation, and include some recipes. The other books that are available such as the restaurant guides and the complete food companion you must pay for. I think they sell a package with 3 or 4 books for like $20 or $25. There are websites like the one below that have lots of the information available for free.
At this time in my area you can sign up for 8 weeks for $88, not sure if it is the same everywhere or not.
Generally no.
When I went there, there was an additional fee for the book.
(about $15 I think)
I rejoined a couple of months ago, and I got the points slider inside my new book. I didn’t pay extra. That gets you the first point, with all the food points, and the 10 week series of help books, which are much improved over what they had 5 yrs ago.
