It depends on how far you went over? It all comes down to calories burned versus calories consumed. A pound of fat is 3,500 calories. So, theoretically and long term, for every 3,500 calories to burn through eating less or exercise, you will lose a pound of fat. This isn’t always true as I’ve woken up 3 lbs. lighter than 2 lbs. heavier in one and a half days. Just keep going. You will lose the weight eventually. I lost 70 lbs. in 4 months, and splurged on the weekends. I’d eat fried food etc. all day. Just keep it up and start exercising/walking. It will help you lose weight AND help you keep it off AND make you feel better during the day. It releases endorphins which are basically your bodies pain killers, but safe and not bad for you like prescription meds. Weight watchers also gives you too little points, which allows for a few extra points (on accident). 30 points is appox. 1600 calories. You can do the math, but that’s about 3 points under what I’m allowed, and my BMR when sedentary is about 2,669! So that’s almost 1000 calories I burn per day. I’m exercising as well to try and lose 100 pounds in 4 months for my honeymoon in August. Wish me luck! Just keep on truckin’. If you go over 3 points on Friday, cut 2-3 points on Saturday etc. Good luck!

Here is something better than Weight Watchers…at least it was for me. And it’s easier too.
I am 5′ 3″ and went from 176 to 124 in 5 months, and have kept if off for 2 years now just by doing what I’m going to tell you. And before I tell you I want you to know that I originally heard this from a nutritionist and later from my doctor and a trainer.
Eat snack size meals and snacks every 2-3 hours. This will keep your metabolism working which will burn more calories. It keeps your blood sugar level which will make you not feel hungry all the time.
Be sure to get plenty of protein and fiber. Don’t cut fat completely out of your diet because you body needs fat. Drink plenty of water, and try some protien/fiber water like South Beach Living or K2-0. It’s a powder that you mix with bottled water, and it comes in good fruity flavors.
Eat what tastes good to you and don’t forget dessert and snacks. I couldn’t live without my chocolate. Eating what you likes is what makes it easy to stick with.
You can even eat what others are eating, like eating out or at a frieinds house…..just eat less, a lot less. Spread it out over time.
It will also help if you go for a 30 minute walk every day. Working out a little every other day is a good thing to do too. Just don’t over do it.
Good luck.

I’m in my second week, also. If you mean that you didn’t eat all of your points then you will probably be fine but in the long run you do need to use them all. If you keep coming up short (I do) make sure that you are getting all of your fruit & veggie servings and if not start squeezing some in as snacks.

Did you eat too many points or not enough?
If you did not eat enough, then it may cause your metabolism to slow down. Your body may react by slowing everything down if you don’t eat enough during the day. Some people eat food that is too low in fat at first, so they don’t eat enough during the day. Just add more fat (cheese, butter, sour cream, etc) to your diet to add a couple of points to your meals. It is nice to have low point snacks and soups on hand, but you still need to eat the recommended number of points daily.
If you went over, just stay within the extra 35 points each week. You can also exercise to earn more points. Eating too many points will eventually keep you from losing.
