My wife has been doing weight watcher s for the last 6 months. It has worked great for her. She started at 195 and is now at 160. She has had good weeks and not so good weeks (only one week where she actually gained and then that was only .5 pounds). Overall I think she has averaged about 2 pounds a week with a couple of 3′s in there (as well as a coule of 1′s).
The biggest point to make is that you have to want to do it. Her coach at WW seems pretty cool and takes the approach that losing too fast only means that it will come back. It’s definitely worth a shot and makes losing it a lot easier but family support makes it a lot easier too.
Good Luck!
3 pounds a week sounds reasonable, as long as you stick to your meal plans and get exercise. The key to being successful in programs like Weight Watchers is willpower, because if you don’t stick with it forever, the weight comes back.
I started at 338 Sept. 11 2007, I am now at 266.
62 pounds in a little under a year. Weight watchers suggests 1-2 lbs per week. If you consistantly lose more than that per week, they will want you to get a Dr. Ok saying that it is ok.
You have to remember that it took more than a few weeks to put the weight on, if you are looking for permanant weight loss, it will take more than a few weeks to get it off.
