How Does the Weight Watchers Point System Even Work?

I am allowed 30 points a day and a big mac is 13 points which means I could have a big mac for lunch if I wanted to…. how does that help me lose weight? Does portion control like that really work even if the food is THAT bad for you?

The point system is just an easier way to count calories. The amount of points you are allowed is equal to the calories you can eat and still lose weight. Simple. And it works if you stick with it.
Well, 13 points is a LOT for one thing- that’s almost half your daily allowance. The big mac has a lot of saturated fat too- the QUALITY of your food choices is just as important, or even more so, than the QUANTITY of your food. I don’t recommend eating big macs, especially if you’re trying to lose weight.
The points system compares the calories, fat, and fiber in a food, and give you a number. Like, if one food had 500 calories in it, 2 grams of fat, and 6 grams of fiber, it’d have less points than if another food had 500 calories in it, 6 grams of fat, and no fiber. Calories aren’t that important- it’s how much fat and fiber there are.
Again, most meals for Weight Watchers are around 5 or 6 points- the big mac is 13. That’s bad. BAD! XD Don’t eat those. They’re horrible for your body. Eat fresh food- just cook some chicken! And rice. The Smart Ones dinners they have in most grocery stores already have the Weight Watchers Points values written on the fronts of the boxes.
Exercise helps too!
Good luck!
