Have You Ever Done Weight Watchers? How Did It Work for You?
I just joined weight watchers today in hopes of losing at least like 55 pounds. Any tips on dieting? Excericising that worked really well for you? Also with the weight watchers diet I am using the points plan not the core plan, but I will still listen to what you have to say if you did the core plan.

Listen as long as you are committed it will work. You need to think about your exercise plan. This is what I followed but I used calorie counting which is similar to points, but it was easier for my cause I like cooking and wanted to learn about nutrition and how to cook healthy for life rather than prepackaged meals.
I also have two kids and only wanted to cook one meal for everyone so we could all gain for understanding calories and food labels.
Committment, dedication and total change of behaviour, it’s a big ask and people don’t understsand that it is really hard but once you are in the zone you can do this.
If you want to do this it is for life so you need to totally change your way of eating and exercising. This is not a diet rather than a healthy eating plan for life. So no more talking diet cause it means time limit. Stop making some major mistakes wake up earlier and get active earlier your metabolism is sluggish and needs to be woken up this is half your problem.
Here are the golden rules:
Initially cut down to 1200 calories.
Exercise 6 times per week for 1 hours a day. Do three weight sessions and three cardio sessions. No gym involved.
Don’t eat carbs after 4pm, never eat carbs within 2 hours of exercise or within 1 hour of exercise.
Drink 3 litres of water per day. You can have a green tea at the end of the day.
Limit your fruit in take to 2 pieces per day.
Never eat dinner after 6pm.
Adopt of low GI eating plan this is sustainable for life!
Make low fat dairy choices
Follow this menu plan as a suggestion:
Breakfast 7am – 1 cup hot water w lemon
20 minutes later have a bowel of oats w water (no honey) OR
fruit salad w low GI soy yogurt
Snack 10am – pear or apple (both low GI)
Lunch 12.30pm – multigrain sandwich w 50g tuna & salad (no butter)
Snack 3pm – low GI yogurt OR skim berry smoothie (no honey or banana) plenty of ice, 1/2 cup skim milk & 1/4 cup yogurt
Dinner 5.30pm – 120g grilled lean meat/fish/prawns/tofu patties (not fried) w spinach salad & mixed vegies (no whites, carbs) OR 3 egg white/soy omlette with ham, cheese and tomato
Snack – 1 scoop of low cal low fat ice cream (if hungry)
Exercise is must be intense. Refer to http://www.bodybuilding.com for your weights routine. Never do weights two consecutive days have a cardio day in between.
Cardio needs to include running, go hard up stair wells and cycling. You get the most benefits from exercise when your body is totally fatigued and this is when you see changes.
To maintain you can increase calories to 1500 and reduce exercise sessions to 3-4 times per week. If weight creeps up again due to holiday period etc.. go back to 1200 cal and 6 sessions again.
Good luck it worked for me it can work for anyone.
weight watchers didnt work 4 me but every1 is differ i think u should try it out
I’ve done weigh watchers in the past, anything you can stick to will work. I have started Pilate’s, private sessions. It is the best!!!!!! It can be a bit pricey, but with weight watchers you will be looking fantastic in no time!!!
i have only done the south beach diet i going jogging or walking for at least 2-5 miles a week and crunches and push up and swimming for exercises good luck to you
Hi, a good friend of mine has joined weight watchers, it has worked extremely well for her. She has lost over 10kg in just over 3 months. She has stuck to eating her points and has excercised for about 30-45 minutes every afternoon. Good luck!
Is there like a weightwatchers web site that I can go to or something? I kinda want to try it out…
it did very well for me. but you have ot go to meetings, excercise and stick to it for the long term to keep it off.
ive never done it but my moms friend lost i think it was 40 pounds on it but rely u just have to keep on a diet its a life change u should resort back to ur old ways or u will gain all the wight back
I just joined 6 weeks ago and have lost 10.4 lbs. and I really have found that it is a very easy program to follow. You go weekly to meetings to weigh in and then have a sit in where you can get encouragement, information and tips on things that have worked for others along with receipe ideas. You do not have to eat the pre-packaged foods although they have them. You are able to eat whatever you want but what you start doing is looking at the point values for that item and then have to decide if you really want to spend your points in that way or not. I have found that I can still eat most of the things I ate before but fix them with things that will reduce the point value and watch the portion sizes. You will learn the foods that are better for you and begin to make better food choices.
It is a lifestyle change and not a diet. I would never go on a diet because I always felt restricted in what I was allowed to eat and that is why Weight Watchers is so much easier for me to do.
Even though I am the one that joined my husband has also lost 5 lbs with me by me just having better food choices at home and he sort of follows along with me as an encouragement.
I also go with my sister-in-law who has been going for 1-2 years now and even with her health problems and medications she is taking she just lost 52 lbs and is doing much better health wise as well.
It is something that will not only benefit you but your family as well as they will begin to learn to make better choices for themselves.
Yes, didn’t work good for me, I can’t handle being told what I am allowed to eat.
Homeopathic Treatment for Excessive Fat and Weight :-
PHYTOLACCA BERRY’s Mother Tincture is perhaps the safest and sure fire way of loosing excessive fat around abdomen. With Phytolacca Berry once you loose the excessive fat and weight you don’t get it back because you body takes care of itself after that and keeps you from gathering up excessive fat. It is prescribed after having a baby too, to get the tummy to loose its flab and to make it flatter and tighter. And after loosing weight with this you don’t get flabby it tightens up the flab and skin along with helping your body to shed the excessive accumulation of fat around the girth
The dosage is 15 to 20 drops of the tincture in half a cup of hot water thrice a day half hour before or after meals.
Avoid Chocolates, Coffee, Mints, Red Meat and Carbonated and Alcoholic drinks while taking Homeopathic Medicines. You have to take it for at least 30 to 45 days after that you start to feel the results.
To the best of my knowledge its the safest and the most sure fire way of loosing fat and weight and keeping it of for keeps. Excellent remedy for Obese people who cant seem to shed weight despite trying.
Homeopathic Remedies can be found at all Major Herbal Stores or could be bought on line, In most of the world Homeopathic remedies are quite cheap and easy to find and they do not need a prescription.
Take care and God Bless !
i have done weight watchers and it worked great. But if you don’t stick with it for the rest of your life the weight comes right back. Thats what happened to me. I couldnt eat like that forever. Good luck honey!
I did the points plan a few years ago. At first it was great – i lost 11 pounds in the first two weeks, but then i got obsessed with food. I kept wondering if what i was making for dinner for my family had more points in it than i had left – all i did was think about food – points wise – it became too consuming for me. I know a ton of people it has worked for – i suggest trying their message boards – the girls and guys there are tremendously helpful. Been there done that kind of thing and can help you out and give you very good advice.
Good luck to you!!
i don’t think you need to spend money on this crap. i think if you go to a gym, and ask someone there working for some help b/c you’re new to the gym thing they will help you out. you’ll be feel better, look better, and you’re pockets will have a little more weight to them.
It worked for me. It taughed me how to eat a balanced diet and to give up on crash diets. I liked the ww at home.
i havent done weightwatchers. i did the special k plan and it worked out exactly as it promised. and i run at least 2 or 3 miles per day, but my typical run is 5 miles. the first 2 weeks of running helped me lose alot of fat. and dont worry too much if the scale doesnt change drastically because running ..gains muscle.
but then again im 15 and 5’7 and have never weighed over 142lbs in my life.
i just have a bad case of anorexia and currently weigh 117lbs
i have recently lost 45 pounds. the most important thing is to never give up. if you fall off the wagon on one day don’t worry about it and jump back on. Losing weight is frustrating and hard but worth it if you can stick to it. i lost it by exercising and not eating over 1200 calories a day. i drank lots of water, tried not to eat after 6:00 at night, and quit eating out. You won’t believe how much of a different person emotionally you will become. good and bad. just remember to stay healthy and keep at it.
Weight watchers is a nutritionally sound good program. If one plan does not work for you switch to the other.
it works…combine the two plans do core one week and flex the next one and also workout…
i do my own plan, all you need is will power and dedication and you could do it, dont join some peice of shait like weight watchers.
seven out of the seven people i know that tried weight watcher were successful. i think the minimum anyof them lost was 20 pounds over the course of maybe 4 months. You have to stick to it. Don’t let yourself go over your points at all.
hope it works for you!
I seriously hate Weight Watchers. I hate the whole idea of paying to get weighed and there motivational meeting are bs. They go on and on about this whole life style thing but which is true, but you do not need to sit in a room full of strangers and pay money to find that out. Just cut back on what you are eating, eat less carbs and fat and exercise and walk and drink water and that is what it takes. Any one, including doctors, will tell you that. Good luck.
Honey, if those diet foods have anything like what diet pepsi,or diet cokes have in them, you will regret ever eating those foods, later on in life!! Trust me!! I quit drinking diet pepsi’s one day, when I began, reading the ingredients, and it said one particular ingredient, (the diet one) had killed or caused cancer in "Lab-rats" poor little Lab rats……..However, I did quit drinking them because, of the light that wouldn’t go away, one night, in my head. That’s when I started reading everything I was eating drinking & so on. However, I just explained to the last girl, about riding the invisible bike at night while lieing on your bed..Do "Sets", rest, then do crunches, in between , rest, then do the bicycle again… Even, the scissors, with your legs held high above your tummy… I’m a middle-aged woman, and I am getting the figure back I had before I had my kids.. Thats how effective those excersices, are!!! Then, go and get some of your favorite squashes & zuccini, carrots, or even if you like brussel sprouts, some of those, or do the easy thing buy frozen vegeez, by the bagsssss!!!!! Lots of apples, bananas…. Get you some, whole wheat berry bread, some honey bran muffins….Some skinned & boned chicken thighs, or breasts, some clean smelling fresh salmon. Some extra virgin olive oil, fresh garlic, & your favorite salsa.. Oh, and potatoes… Go home, and break out all of your favorite, large knives, and pots & pans!! (I forgot also pick up some 100% juices, like Cranberry & prune juice, some good water bottles, and the darkest bottle of honey, you can find). Then chop-up, all those squashes, and carrots, and zuccini’s, steam them, while their steaming get you baking pans out, and for the chicken, I put a tad of water, in the bottom of the pan, it makes the chicken more moist.. I put either fresh, garlic, all over the tops of the chicken, and honey. and bake at 350 until golden brown…The Salmon, I put just extra virgin olive oil, on it, and this fish seasoning, (no butter, or salt with this diet), and bake at 350 for about 1 hour, just keep an eye on the fish, if its a little flaky when you check it, its ready to come out, you dont want to over cook the salmon, because there’s alot of really good vitamins, in salmon… Bake your potatoes, while your baking.. You can even pick-up, some of those little red potatoes, they are so delicisious!! But, I dont think they’d go to good with the salsa. Okay, once your chicken, or salmon, veggeez, are done steaming..baking.. You, will have before you, on your plate, either salmon, or baked chicken, as much as you want of your vegeez, a baked potatoe, with salsa, on it, (thats where the salt, comes in), one slice of good wheat nut bread.. And, talk about filling, nourishing!!! And Yummo-Delicisious!!! All those flavors, of all those different squashes, combined, oh my gosh!!! But, with no butter or salt on the meats or vegeez, you learn to appreciate the real flavors, in your foods.. So, for breakfast before your morning coffee, you have yourself a banana, or your favorite fruit, I highly reccommend the banana, tho, with the honey bran muffin. Give it about 10 minutes, to 20, before you have that coffee, for the banana, to kick in.. They digest pretty quick, usually.. and your going to find yourself, wanting to do laps, around your neighborhood, with so much mental high, as well, on this diet.. I swear by it, and in between drink your juices, and lots of water, eat apples.. I use to buy those bags of red deliscous, miniture apples, and before I knew it those apples replaced my smoking too. Plus, clean your teeth naturally, give you energy.. and those excercises, in bed at night will shrink your appetite.. Or you can do them in the morning before, you get out of bed, to create energy before the bran muffin & banana.. This is such, a deeeliscious diet, and natural high kind of diet, that I highly recommend it to everyone!! Enjoy & Happy Eating to you!!!Smile!!
Weight Watchers diet menu is great, you get to eat normal food, they even have weight watchers online which is very convient. Good luck!!!
Yes, I went to WW’s a long time ago & lost all the weight they said I needed to. But I was foolish & thought now that it was gone it won’t come back. I stopped going to meetings & went back into my old bad habits. After all that hard work & $$ I regained it back plus more.
Good luck to you, follow what they say, you’ll do great !!
I did the points plan. Lost 5 pounds. I have had a lot of friends also do it – one of which lost 80 pounds.
I just count calories now and work out 3-4 days a week an hour at a time and have lost 15 pounds in 3 months.
My sister lost , no joke, 120 pounds following w.w and a mild gym routine if you stick to it you will get results, but it can be tough to stick to counting the points. the best way to start is by not having any calories in any thing you drink. you’d be surprised how they add up
don’t give up it works very well my friend has lost 103 lbs in one year and i’m down 23 lbs in 2 1/2 months check out kimbensen.com she has lost 212 on weight watchers i will never quit going to my meetings you really need to find a leader you click with good luck you can do it
I havent done it personally but i have a coworker on the plan now………she goes in and gets weighed weekly and the eating isnt all that bad either……..its basically whatever you want in moderation of course and theres a point system to keep it all in check for you…….
Its really simple looks like from what i’ve seen happening with her………Granted its not an overnight thing but thes things in life are worked for to be achieved and not just handed over……….
I think I might join too…………..Good Luck!!!
Stop eating like a crazed water buffalo and you will lose weight.
it didnt work for me and it was just to get you to buy more of the things that they had it is not worth it.
it is sensible and super!!! walking is a great exercise and pool. good luck!!!
On WW, I was hungry for the first three days, then i actually had trouble eating all my points!
Stir fry veggies would fill me up everytime–I would tell myself I could have something in an hour IF I wanted it. But I rarely did.
Slow and steady, it works!
The WW group leaders get a bit perky, that was my only complaint…i don’t do perky.
Good luck becoming a loser!
Try this for a start, then go on to a healthy lifestyle, well balanced diet and regular exercise. This will work….
BASIC FAT BURNING SOUP
6 large green onions 2 green peppers
1 or 2 cans of tomatoes [crushed] 1/2 bunch of celery
1 large head of cabbage 1 pkg. Lipton onion soup
4 cups of water
Season with 1/4 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. pepper, 1/4 tsp. curry, 1 Tbsp. parsley, if desired or bouillon or hot sauce. Cut vegetables in small to medium pieces and cover with water. Boil fast for ten minutes. Reduce to simmer and continue cooking until vegetables are tender. This soup can be eaten anytime you are hungry. Eat as much as you want, whenever you want. This soup will not add calories. The more you eat the more you will lose. Fill a thermos in the morning if you will be away during the day. If eaten for indefinite periods you would suffer malnutrition.
=============================================================
DAY ONE: All fruits except bananas. Cantaloupe and watermelon are lower in calories than most fruits. Eat only the soup and fruits. For drinks; unsweetened tea, cranberry juice, or water.
DAY TWO: All vegetables. Eat until you are stuffed with all the fresh, raw, or canned vegetables. Try to eat green leafy veggies and stay away from dry beans, peas, and corn. Eat along with the soup. At dinner time on this day, reward yourself with a big baked potato and butter. Do not eat any fruits.
DAY THREE: Eat all the soup, fruits, and vegetables you want. Do not have a baked potato. If you have eaten for three days as above, and have not cheated, you will have lost 5 to 7 pounds.
DAY FOUR: Bananas and skim milk. Eat as many as 8 bananas and drink as many glasses of water as you can on this day along with the soup. Bananas are high in calories and carbohydrates and so is the milk, but on this particular day your body will need the potassium and
the carbohydrates, proteins and calcium to lessen your craving for sweets.
DAY FIVE: Beef and tomatoes. You may have 10 to 20 ounces of beef and a can of tomatoes or as many as 6 fresh tomatoes on this day. Try to drink at least 6 to 8 glasses of water
this day to wash away the acid in your body. Eat the soup at least once this day.
DAY SIX: Beef and veggies. Eat to your heart’s content of the beef and vegetables this day. You can even have two or three steaks if you like with the green leafy vegetables, but no baked potato. be sure and eat the soup.
DAY SEVEN: Brown rice, unsweetened fruit juices and vegetables. Again, stuff yourself. Be sure to have the soup at least once today.
At the end of the seventh day, if you have not cheated on the above diet, you will have lost 10 to 17 pounds. If you have lost more than 17 pounds, stay off the diet for two days before resuming again from day one.
This seven day eating plan can be used as often as you like. As a matter of fact, if correctly followed, it will clean your system of impurities and give you a feeling of well-being as never before.
After only seven days of this process, you will begin to feel lighter by at least 10 and possibly 17 pounds, having an abundance of energy. Continue this plan as long as you wish and feel the difference.
This diet is fast, fat-burning, and the secret is that you will burn more calories than you take in. It will flush your system of impurities and give you a feeling of well-being. This diet does not lend itself to drinking any alcoholic beveragesat any time because of the removal of fat build-up in your system. Go off the diet at least 24 hours before any intake of alcohol.
Because everyone’s digestive system is different, this diet will affect everyone differently. After day three, you will have more energy than when you began, if you did not cheat. After
being on this diet for several days, you will find your bowel movements have changed. Although you can have black coffee with this diet, you may find that you don’t need the caffeine after the third day.
DEFINITE NO-NO’S: Fried foods, bread, alcohol, no carbonated drinks, including diet drinks. stick with water, unsweetened tea, black coffee, unsweetened fruit juices, cranberry juice, and skim milk. If you prefer, you can substitute broiled fish or baked chicken {skinless} for the beef on only one of the beef days. You need the high protein in the beef the other day.
The Basic Fat Burning Soup can be eaten anytime you feel hungry. Eat as much as you wish. Remember, the more you eat, the more you will lose. Continue this plan as long as you wish and feel the difference both physically and mentally.
Any prescribed medication will not hurt you on this diet.

You need to educate yourself on health and nutrition.
If you’d like to learn about some healthy ways to lose weight, and keep it off. Check out this website.
http://s2.forumforfree.com/index.php?mfo...
It’s basically made up of people who are on the NutriSystem plan, some using the NutriSystem product and some doing it without, but you will learn a ton of stuff about weight loss and health just reading the boards.
Oh, and the people are very very friendly.
Good luck.
