It’s my new years resolution to lose weight. Has anyone had results with Weight Watchers? What kind of results?
My only issue is that I’m 13 and Weight Watchers is designed for those 18 and older. Reasons for me to not join?
Any extra info is welcomed. My weight really bothers me.

as long as its a balaced diet
Weight Watchers is an excellent program that is based on a low-fat, low-refined carb diet. It doesn’t eliminate all fats and sugars, but it helps you control the amount that you consume through a point system. I followed a diet recommended by Dr. Dean Ornish and I easily lost 40 pounds and kept it off with a permanent lifestyle change.
Reason for you not to join:
A younger person can tolerate more fat in their diet, and some fats are essential.
Eliminate:
-Sugar, Honey, Artificial Sweeteners (even no cal stimulates appetite)
-Refined carbs (white bread, refined noodles & pasta, white rice)
-Animal Fats & Meat (lard, homogenized milk, butter, egg yokes)
-Excessive Plant oils and fats (avocado, olives, olive oils)
Your appetite for bad foods will disappear over time. You do need about the equivalent of about 1 tablet of oil each day, but not much more. I’d do research on a low-fat (including vegetable oil), low-refined carb diet that is also low in animal protein. You should avoid most fats and most sugars and sweeteners. Convenience food are a disaster because they usually include either sugar or fat to improve the taste.
Weight watchers does have a program for folks under the age of 18. You will get the information from the instructor when you join up. You may need a note from your doctor, but you can always go to a meeting for free and ask them what they need from you to have you join.
I have lost 30 pounds and am about to go lifetime. It works as long as you are honest with yourself and track everything you eat. Exercise does help you lose weight faster, plus you get more points when you do exercise during the day!
If you are ready to make a change, then I say it is a good time to join. If you are not ready to make the commitment, then it will just be a waste of money and time.
