Has Anyone Followed the Weight Watchers Plan While Pregnant?
I am 8 weeks pregnant with my first baby and I am about 40 pounds overweight. I desperatly need a handle on my weight gain during my pregnancy. I know Weight Watchers is a great plan, but I was wondering about following it while pregnant. Everyone tells me not to diet or worry about it while pregnant, but surely there is a plan I can follow to limit my weight gain?!

You shouldnt be doing any kind of dieting while pregnant. Even if you are a little overweight youll gain your baby weight. And then when your baby comes you can lose it all. I gained 34 lbs with my son and hes 7 1/2 weeks old and Ive lost all 34 lbs+. Dont worry about your weight! Your pregnant worry about your baby! Congrats
dont diet while ur pregnant.. do that after, u could seriously affect ur baby’s and your health.
Eat well.. like if ur hungry eat fruit, yoghurt etc.. make sure u eat plenty, go swimming.. but dont diet! u need 2300 cals a day when pregnant!
weight watchers does not allow you to join their program if you are pregnant.
Instead of worrying about your weight, everytime you want to eat something, ask yourself if your baby wil really benefit from it.
Thats what I did, and I ended up losing weight, instead of gaining. I am now 35 weeks pregnant, and my baby already weighs 3kg, and I am healthier than ever!
good luck,and congrats!
I wouldn’t bother dieting while pregnant. It’s not the safest and smartest thing to do. Since you are already overweight, you wont need to gain much weight during pregnancy but expect it to happen. Don’t diet, but you CAN watch what you eat. Example: When your hungry just eat lots of veggies and fruits. Drink a lot of water as well. Stay away from sugary foods and drinks. Get light to moderate exercise as well. Walk a lot. It’s the best thing to do. It’s too late to start dieting but never too late to be careful about which foods you eat and staying active.
Thanks ladies. This is very helpful. It is hard not to worry about being overweight, but the way you ladies put it makes sense. I also would not want to harm my baby due to my vanity.
