Does Weight Watchers Work? Is It Worth the Money?
I have considered joining Weight Watchers. I need to loose a considerable amount of weight and can’t seem to keep a consistant diet on my own. Friends have told me it has worked for them. It seems awfully expensive. All that money just for "meetings", no health club, exercise, food. Should I fork over the dough or just get the info and try the program on my own?
What about Weight Watchers online?

It does work. I am not considerably overweight, just slightly and I wanted to lose about 10 – 15 lbs so I joined Weight Watchers. My Mom made me go b/c I felt the same as you do about it.
It really helps you to understand food and what’s good/bad – you would be surprised. Going to the meetings in uncomfortable, however it offers a lot of motivation to lose because you have to go get weighed in by a specialist and you know that you cannot get away with cheating.
It’s not as hard as you may think either – the best part is that you really can eat whatever you want as long as you don’t go over your daily allowed points – every food has a point value. Based on your weight class you will be allowed to eat a certain # of points daily. You can even bank your points for a big meal!! Meaning if you have leftover points throughout the week you can use them all at once on a treat!
The bottom line is, this is a great way to lose weight, even without excerising. I didn’t lift a finger while on the program but I still lost 19 lbs in three months!!
It’s worth it if you’re committed to the program. The first change (that committment) has to come from you. If you follow the plan, you will lose weight and it is worth the money.
simple answer.
No.
Why pay for people to tell you how to loose wait when your information is all over the web. Your simply wasting money on people advising you. When its all here.
Try it on your own, but get a friend to give u moral support so u dont feel like giving up. I think it will also make u feel a little better.
The best way to do it on your own is
Set little targets
Like for the first month i want to loose 3 pounds
Then next month 5 pounds.
Make sure you weigh your self each time and if your slacking dont think of it as your failing, you simply didnt reach your goal for that month.
Keep your mind focused, get your friends to help.
And you will be a winner.
IT WORKS! I lost 110 lbs. after trying everything else. It is not "just meetings." It’s food plans, support, exercise, and life skills. As for the expense–I’m worth it, and my husband and I are actually saving more because I plan meals, and we don’t eat out as much or grab something quick. Give it a try–but remember, it’s a new lifestyle–not a diet.
It is worth the money. The meeting really help, the support they give is great!
And as for online, I dont know I have never tried, but I heard it was great!
I am not against any method to reduce weight. But I believe you can do it cheap by counting the calories and by exercising.
If you sign by WW at least do not be involved in any mass trial WW are sponsoring in Europe. Here they try to get a new record in the Guinness book: 1k to 2k people will be fed together and weighted in a few days in January and will be weighed again in three months. In the mean time the whole group should lose something like 30 tons to establish the new Guinness record. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT PEOPLE SHOULD NOT DO to lose some fat.
Hello there I’m going to put it to you like this anything can work with consistancy. The thing about weight watches is it can start to get expensive. I for one started a low calorie diet with plenty of water intake. Fool your stomach by eating several small meals a day. If you can cut out white breads, rice, pasta basically anything starchy your body will appreciate it. Eat lots of meat not loaded with grease and eat plenty of your favorite veggies. And if you do cook with oil use canola oil or go to dallar tree and get pure vigin olive oil and start cooking with this. Salads are also awesome they are great with lots of meat and use fat free dressing/light dressings. You really don’t have to eat a lot of small meals if you do as recommended with eating lots of meats and veggies and cutting out a lot of breads. Now you can by the weight watchers protein bars they will help to satisfy your sweet tooth. Cause you will also need to cut down on sweets.
Also try to get in at least 15 to 30 mins a day of cardio walking, riding a bike, dancing to your fav tunes (this one works great) and swimming. Any thing will work as long as you get some activity.
Go to Gnc or vitamin world and buy you some fat burners. Venom works so good. I lost 20bls in less than a month. Seriously. I also started buying smaller clothes and every week once a week i would weigh myself to see my progress and see how the clothes were starting to fit. Don’t weigh yourself everyday only once a week and do it first thing that morning before you eat or drink. Good luck to you and feel free to email me for more tips. lnunley25@yahoo.com Ps plan 1 day out of the week to eat what ever you want but don’t over do it !!!!!
Weight Watchers is not expensive at all. You do have to pay for the start up fee but it’s only like $13.00 and you get a chart for calculating your "points". It’s a point system and they will explain that to you at the meeting. You have to be patient cause the weight comes off slowly but it does work. Plus, Weight Watchers is probably rated the best for sensable dieting. It will allow you a huge variety of foods to eat just as long as you stay within your points. Good Luck!
depends. for some people it works, and for others it doesn’t. in case you might want to try another program, then go to this site:

Welp I think the support at the meetings is good and it keeps u motived, not to mention dedicated. Another good point (@least in my opinion
) is that since you’re paying all that money ur not just going to blow it off. Besides that the point sysem alows for a creative and easy to use way for u to eat what u want but to still lose weight and think about what ur eating! Which is VERY important! See the program ALSO teaches to the points of eating healthy and stsying fit which is something that u can use forever! So if u have the extra money I would DEFINETLY recomend weight watchers, someone in my life used it and it REALLY improved their life, it made them alot happier and inspired about life~
screw weightwatchers, man! and flush those weight loss pills down the toilet! and give doctor atkins a shove in his butt!
whew… i mean, diets and pills and starvation don’t work. they’re just big, fat fads!! you loose the fat and then get it all back again, plus more! how ironic! and it does your health no good.
your answer? make exercise and healthy eating your way of life. a combination of weight lifting and running work wonders. but you must back this up with healthy eating and adequate sleep.
If you are truly committed then it works. Keep in mind NO diet works immediatly. In my opinion it is the best diet out there. I know someone who lost 120 pounds off of weight watchers. Goodluck!
yes, I think it’s worth every dime….I was on
Weight Watchers to loose weight for my son’s wedding and
followed their advised. I lost 50 lbs just in time for the wedding.
the point system really works…I did not purchase their food, I
just ate as the support group recommended.
You are allowed to eat everything in moderation, but using the
point system. Good luck, I know you will look great with little
effort and drinking lots of water.
yes it works i was skeptical at first but it was awesome they provide so much motivation and you can eat what you want but everything has points so if you wanted 1 slice of pizza its 6 points my total points was 26 plus 5 bonus points i would lose 2 pds a week and also the 1st week i lost 4 cause the first week you always lose more well goodluck
You can go on WeightWatchers.com and buy the stuff you need and then do it at home. It is a lot harder doing it by yourself but you have to commit yourdelf. That way you have to go get weighed in front of all of those people and pay for the meeting. Hope this helped.
