I’m trying to lose some weight (like 30 pounds) while my husband is deployed.. but i don’t have time to exercise with college and a baby.. will weight watchers work for me? And if it does.. and I do it right, is it possible I could lose the weight in like 3 months?

I’m 52 years old and joined weight watchers 4 months ago. I have lost 30 lbs to date. The only exercise I do is walking. Gowever, Weight Watchers does work without exercise. Its simple, if you burn more calories than you consume, you will loose weight. Exercising can “help” you burn calories. Exercises that tone and increase muscle mass (not bulk muscle) can be useful in your journey. This is because lean muscle burns calories at a MUCH higher rate than fat.
Be aware, however, you must consume the “proper” foods, not just blindly eat calories. There are requirements for protein, fruits and vegetables. The more you eliminate processed foods, fats, and sugars, the quicker the weight will come off. The first couple of weeks are hardest until you get use to the program, but can also show the greatest weight loss. Some folks loose up to 5 lbs the first week. However, 1-2 lbs per week is average. My weight loss has been slow, but this has been true all my life. Once you start loosing, its a great feeling, no matter how fast or slow. BTW, Tracking your food IS important. Just stick with it. Its very rewarding. The weight watcher centers have multiple “presenters”. Find one that you like. Some are very funny, entertaining, while some are just informational. Remember, it works if you work it. If you’re not honest about what you eat, you’re only lying to yourself. Good Luck.
no you cant lose weight eating
no diets work if you dont excercise…
ww did work for me without exercising for the first 20 lbs, I too needed to lose 30 lbs as well so had to exercise to lose the last 10. The plan will most likely plateau when you are close to your goal weight unless you do incorporate some exercise. Of course being a busy college student and a mom is exercise! Good Luck! (I did ww online only)
you do need to work out to make any positive gain.
i believe that no diet in the world can work without exercise. It may help you reduce the amount of calories you take in, but it doesn’t help get rid of the fat you may already have.
The program suggests that you should lose about two pounds a week! Some people are able to lose the weight without exercising, but you will hit a plateuo. When this happens, you will have to start exercising!
if you cut out anything with high frictose corn syrup in it you won’t be hungry very much as you won’t be forced to crave everything due to its chemicals, try to eat foods low in fat calories (regular calories are okay), take two green tea tablets every day, and do five minutes of jumping jacks in the morning and at night (even if your schedule is really busy you should be able to free up 5 minutes at a time to get some exercise in)
by the way, if you follow this advice you should easily lose 3 to 5 pounds per week til you are happy with your weight
Weight Watchers is a very successful weight control program.
If they say you can, and if you do what they tell you to do, I bet you’ll lose weight.
Remember, college and a baby add up to a lot of exercise naturally!
It will work without exercise to a point…By that I mean you will lose but you will have stretchy flabby/skin if you don’t exercise.
And that may only be taken off by surgery.
If you exercise while dieting, you will keep everything toned up. Walk everyday 30 minutes one way, then turn around and go home….You just did an hour of exercise!
Or if you can do 30 minutes at home everyother day, at least 3 times a week that would be good….
Do sit-ups, crunches, leg lifts, touching toes……etc..
Doing exercise is a plus.while dieting because no flab will hangdown from your body…..good luck.
Yes, you can lose weight on Weight Watchers without exercising. I lost 75 pounds! Now, as the weight came off, I naturally started increasing my activity level. I would park further in the parking lot and walk up stairs instead of taking the elevator. Now that I’m within 10 pounds of my goal, I feel comfortable exercising in a gym setting.
As for losing 30 pounds in 3 months, it’s possible but not for me. You would probably be more likely to be closer to your goal if you followed the CORE plan.
Best of luck!!
