I wear about an 18. I would like to get down to about a 12. My weight watcher points is 69. If i follow that and exercise. How long should it take to achieve this goal? And what type of exercising is the best? What can i do to help it go faster?

I did weight watchers and lost 40lbs in about 3 months, I did it online too.
It works… The only problem is you don’t learn about nutrition and all you do is learn how to count points. You also have to rely on weight watchers to reculate your points so you can maintain it. This sucks cause it requires you to remain a memeber.
Instead I just get my BMR and do a deficit and lose weight based on that. However, I do miss the smartones meals and lean cusines… But not the price tag lol…
The points are great.. Now they use a momentium plan which is basically eating filling foods from what I hear..
No. When my sister did that it made her maintain (when she chose weight loss) and my mom, who was bigger than you, only lost about a pound a week. It really isn’t a good method for weight loss, more for maintenance and healthy habits.
Well first off your points seem extremely high. I am a 215 lb guy and my points are 30. You might want to count up your point allowance.
Aside from the, weight watchers is an excellent program! I lost about 30 lbs in 3 months doing it. Average healthy weight loss is about 2 lbs/wk unless you are extremely large (bmi of 40+), in that case, it could be more. So basically you should lose about 8-10 lbs/month, maybe 15 if you are exercising a lot and you are rather large. As far as exercising for weigh loss, there really is no wrong exercise. The way you most likely would want to go, though, is cardio workouts. Running, swimming, aerobics, etc. Anything that gets your heart rate up. And you should do it for 30 – 60 mins per day, 5 – 6 days/week.
Lastly, if you are exercising this much, drink lots of water. I recommend half your body weight in ounces of water per day. Do this and I guarantee you will see the pounds drop off. Good luck!
You may want to recalculate your point allowance (use the link below). The maximum points for anyone in a day is 42 and at a size 18, I would think you don’t weigh anywhere near enough to get 42 points.
As far as your question goes, no, it does not make you skinny. It simply provides the tools necessary to change your eating habits but the rest is up to you. It can be very difficult and many, many people fail. It depends on your level of commitment. If you are ready to lose weight and stick to the program there is NO WAY that you will not lose weight. WW is set up to help you lose up to 2 pounds per week, so don’t expect miracles, but slow weight loss is the healthiest way to go and generally provides for longer lasting results.
My wife made herself skinny by doing Weight Watchers. At one point in her life she was close to 250 pounds. She lost some of the weight herself but still had a bit to go. The final 50 pounds she lost using WW and now weighs about 132 pounds. She has maintained her weight for close to 3 years now. Good luck with your goals!!
