Does It Make Sense to Go to Weight Watchers After Having Had Gastric Bypass?
Before having gastric bypass surgery last year I had tried Weight Watchers with minimal results. After surgery I have lost 80 lbs and am down six dress sizes. However, I liked the structure of Weight Watchers, with the weekly weigh ins, points systems and so forth. So I’m wondering would it be beneficial to try it again? Thank you.

It makes good sense to go to Weight Watchers after the bypass. There are a ton of people who attend in order to help themselves maintain the weight loss and healthy eating lifestyle; and you need to do the same thing for the rest of your life so you can maintain the weight loss from the gastric bypass.
there is a reason why the weight loss surgical programs have follow up classes and meetings with the nutritionist; that way you are reminded about what you need to do. A weekly meeting would be even better.
Congratulations on your weight loss!
Hi strawberriesilove,
I had this challenge myself for a long time, I have tried countless different things throughout the past years. a few weeks a go a co-worker and friend of mine had amazing results with this program. I was so jealous – I wanted to have these results as well! so I tried it and I could not believe it – it worked better and faster then I could have ever imagined possible.
Go see for yourself I included the link here. Go take a look around I believe strongly that this can help you without a doubt. I hope I could help you with this. go check it out here.
Absolutely. You need to have a plan in place for maintenance now that you have lost the weight. Good for you for being proactive about this.
you should, because it will maintain a structure for your future eating habits.
Also, it will help you make friends and form strong bonds with others who struggle to lose weight. You may become an inspiration to some of these people.
Yes, by all means. Having the support is great. But, do be aware that some people might have a problem with you coming to meetings, having had gastric bypass and taking the "easy way out" to weight loss (easy way out – I’m being sarcastic here!) It is a good idea to have structure and support. If people as you what you are doing there after surgery, it is a good way to educate them and dispell a lot of myths that gastric bypass is a cure for obesity. Good for you for being proactive!
