idinahuggles asked:

I really want to get healthier/thinner/fitter, and I’ve heard that Weightwatchers works well. The problem is that I’m only 13, and I don’t want to be the only kid in the group. Is there some kind of program that I could do with my mom (she wants to lose weight too), a kids program, or does Weight Watchers not invite tenagers? If the last one, is there another place that I could gofor the same kind of service? Thanks so much for the help.
I’m a girl.

Weight Watchers Recipes

When searching the internet, it’s easy to find many good weight watchers recipes. However if you’ve never tried any of them you may be a little apprehensive to cut out so many calories and fat grams. You may be concerned about sacrificing flavor and quality. Have no fear, weight watchers recipes won’t leave you feeling like you are sacrificing anything as these recipes are often better than the originals! All of these recipes are sure to make it into your personal recipe book.

Weight Watchers Cheesy Enchiladas are meatless and made by substituting fat free cheeses for higher fat cheeses. This recipe makes a moist and flavorful delight which will only cost you four points per serving. Now that’s something you can feel good serving to your family as well, and I bet your kids will love it too.

Weight Watchers Pineapple Angel Food cake is made with one can of pineapple and one box of angel food cake mix. At only three points per serving this is a great dessert recipe. It’s flavorful and moist. Even if you are not using weight watchers, this recipe is one that you owe it to yourself to taste.

Looking for a cool delight on a hot summer day that won’t destroy all your dieting efforts? Try the Weight Watchers Orange Fluff recipe. This recipe is creamy and smooth like ice cream and has fruit for that added sweetness you crave. However, this cream won’t show up on your hips. This dreamy creamy delight will only cost you one point per serving.

Looking for a way to make an old favorite compatible with your weight watchers diet? Try the Weight Watchers Mac and Cheese Recipe. This recipe has loads of flavor without all of the fat of traditional mac and cheese. After tasting this mouth watering recipe you won’t like the old fattening variety any longer. You won’t look at your old mac and cheese the same again. The Weight Watchers version will only cost you eight points per serving.

The Weight Watchers Barbecue Meatloaf recipe also offers a new healthy twist on an old favorite. This comforting low fat savory dish will only cost you five points per serving. It substitutes barbecue sauce for ketchup and cuts out the egg yolks to shave off calories and add flavor to this southern favorite.

For a great entertaining recipe that won’t have your guests grimacing over the words “low fat” try the Weight Watchers Cola Chicken recipe. Made with diet soda and ketchup this savory chicken will leave your mouth watering for more. You may have a hard time not having seconds or thirds of this four point recipe.

Need a tasty treat to substitute for a high sugar soda? Try the Weight Watchers Chocolate Fudge Shakes recipe. Made with pudding instead of ice cream this smooth chocolaty treat is sure to tantalize your taste buds. It only takes minutes to whip up this one point per serving treat, so you can satisfy that craving fast.

Hoodia supplements can be used in many Weight Watchers recipes to accelerate the weight loss process. Hoodia grows wild in the African desert and is well known for its anti-oxidant properties and its ability to help the body burn calories faster with an increased metabolic rate. You can learn more about how to lose weight with Hoodia at the Hoodia Diet Plan portal.

I am currently on the slim fast diet, which works, but I would like to do weight watchers as well. So, can I do weight watchers when on the Slim Fast diet? Does anyone know how many points a Slim Fast Optima Rich Creamy Chocolate Shake is?

I was tired of hearing all of the promises: lose weight fast and easy. After three years of starving and four fad diets later I was still in practically the same size. I was beginning to wonder if there really was a way to get the weight off – and keep it off!

The problem I’d found with all those other diets were that they were either so restrictive I couldn’t easily stay on them and continue to live and eat like a normal person; they were too expensive; or once you stopped following the plan (which you couldn’t continue forever or risk serious health problems), the weight came right back on.

Then, a relative told me to try Weight Watchers. “It’s easy, it’s cheap, and it lets you eat real food while it teaches you better habits.”

“Yeah, right,” I thought, “then how does it work?” I went searching for sites that would answer that question. Unfortunately, most of what I found was pretty bad – either out of date or just simply not helpful.

But I stuck to it and finally did find a few great sites that introduced me to the Weight Watchers food points system. And these helped me understand exactly how the program worked.

If you want to see these sites for yourself, scroll down to the bottom of this article where I made a short list of them. There are only three, so it shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to check them out. And they really are essential for anyone thinking about Weight Watchers, or for anyone already on the plan.

But back to what I learned on the sites mentioned below…

Weight Watchers doesn’t believe in quick fixes – maybe that’s why they are a diet plan that has been around for decades. Their philosophy involves teaching you how to eat well-balanced and nutritional foods the easiest way possible – through their well-devised Weight Watchers food points system.

According to the basic plan (now called the Flex Plan), each food is measured for its fat, carbohydrate and sugar content, as well as its fiber and density, and assigned a specific number of points.

Then, each dieter is given a weekly point allowance in relation to their size, age, weight and physical activity regimen, which gives you the freedom to eat exactly what you want, as long as you stay within your food point allowance.

Now, if you want to splurge on chocolate cake and ice cream, that’s fine, but you’ll soon discover that you won’t be eating all that much the rest of the day, but the ultimate decision is yours.

I like it because it lets me cook regular meals and dish my portions out accordingly in order to still lose weight. No more deprivation and packaged meals for me! I’m happy eating real food on this plan.

Now, for those of you who can’t stomach the idea of writing down every single morsel that touches your lips (including drinks and condiments), and keeping track of all of those points, then Weight Watcher’s new Core Plan may be more to your liking. With it, you can eat as much of the foods as you want on a predetermined list of core foods, plus you are allotted 35 extra points per week to use on any other treat that you’d like.

Just in case you’re worried that the Core Food list is filled with bland rabbit food, don’t. It contains things like scrambled eggs, Canadian bacon, cheese omelets, yogurts and fruit smoothies for breakfast; shrimp, lean steak, tuna, veggies and garden fresh soups for lunch; baked potatoes, chicken, and sirloin for dinner; as well as a good variety of extras and special treats.

It really doesn’t matter which of these point plans best fits in with your needs and lifestyle, both offer a nutritional and satisfying way to lose weight. I’ve already lost 10 pounds on the traditional Flex Point Plan, and hope to lose 10 more soon!

So check out these sites below. You’ll be so glad you did!

There are really only three websites you need to check out to get all the information you could ever need about Weight Watchers food points: There’s this Weight Watchers food points page on Hubpages; this Weight Watchers food points page on the great Rate-Diets blog; and this Weight Watchers food points page on Squidoo. These will tell you everything you need to know.
There is so much information on the web about dieting and diets and how to loose anything from 4 to 400 pounds in three seconds that I had no idea where to start looking for some easy steps to get me on the road to a healthier weight. That’s why I started doing some research to find out what steps would help me to Diet Eating success.

These are some of the keys I’ve found to diet eating success:

1. Decide why you are dieting

2. Choose a goal and a reward.

3. Choose a diet.

4. Work out a plan

5. Work out a weekly menu

6. Reward yourself

(Visit my blog for the articles above)

As far as choosing a diet, here are some characteristics of the most common diets so you can decide which diet is right for you:

1.Cleansing diets

These are great to kick start you on a weight loss program. IF you cleanse the liver then the body metabolises food a lot faster and you should therefore lose weight a lot quicker. These are normally very strict regimens which are hard to follow in the long term and they also have left me feeling lack lustre. Not a good idea to cleanse if you have a hectic schedule planned. Ideally you should be able to take the time off from a busy schedule if you want to do a cleanse. I like to cleanse once a year so. Near the holidays so I don’t have to be half a moron at work.

2. Atkins Diet

The Atkins diet revolves around eating plenty of protein in the form of meat, eggs, cheese, chicken, etc while severely restricting the carbohydrates you eat. Its great for meat lovers and people who have used the Atkins successfully have reported rapid weight loss. I personally used the Atkins diet very successfully and lost 20kg. My lifestyle still revolved around Atkins although not as strictly as I used to. For a great ebook introduction to Atkins, visit my blog.

4. The South Beach Diet

I haven’t personally tried the South Beach Diet. There are plenty of resources to explain how it really works, but basically the diet differentiates between ‘good’ and bad carbohydrates. I am told it is very similar to the Atkins so you can eat what you want as long as you watch those carbs. IF you want to know more about the South Beach Diet, visit me on my blog

2. Calorie Restriction

This diet involved working out the calories of everything you eat and restricting calories to a certain number per day. It is very flexible in that you can eat anything you like as long as you keep tabs on the calories. The downside is that eating out can be complicated since its hard to work out what calories are in the meals served.

5. Weight Watchers

Weight watchers assigns a number of points to different foods. You are then allowed a number of points per day. You just need to count the points you eat per day. This diet is also very flexible. You have to join to get the point counters and books. I joined weight watchers and did manage to loose some weight, but I found the lifestyle hard to maintain. I enjoy my proteins so I found Atkins easier but for non-protein fanatics, it can be a very good eating program. There is a great ebook on weight watchers. For details visit my blog.
